Stars shine as free summer films begin

Free family movie nights begin June 28 on the lawn behind Flint City Hall.

“Movies Under the Stars,” presented by Communities First, Inc., will resume its sixth year of the outdoor film series with a pre-party at 7:30 p.m. before Friday’s screening of The LEGO Movie 2.

All guests receive a bag of popcorn, drink and candy.

Kids love “Movies Under the Stars” nights, which include a bag of popcorn, drink and candy, in addition to family-friendly games and activities.

“We are looking forward to the sixth season of ‘Movies Under the Stars,’” says Glenn Wilson, CEO of Communities First. “The community has been supportive of this series and we will continue to provide a high-quality experience for Flint and Genesee County.”

Additional dates and screenings of films include: Smallfoot July 12 on the Flint City Hall back lawn; Incredibles 2 Aug. 9 on the Flint City Hall back lawn; and Peter Rabbit Aug. 23 at Applewood Estate.
