The uplifting story of Cinderella tells us things are not always what they seem and dreams can come true. It also shows those who practice forgiveness and love are not victims and building a noble character is not determined by a person’s station in life but by his or her actions.
These are wonderful messages for young and old alike that will be brought to life when El Ballet Folklórico Estudiantil puts on a mariachi musical based on the story of Cinderella Sept. 29 and 30 at the University of Michigan-Flint Theatre. You can play a role in that production.
Auditions for Cenicienta: A Quinceanera With A Taste of Cinderella will be held at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church, 231 W. Coldwater Rd. in Flint July 10 and 11.
Adult auditions are July 10, 5:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. Cast candidates will need to be prepared to perform a one-minute monologue and one-minute song of their choice, followed by a scripted reading.
Youth auditions are July 11, 5:30 – 7:30 p.m. Youth candidates will participate in a dance instruction and be asked to participate in a scripted reading.
Rehearsals are Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday evenings at the church.
